About You Now has had a tendency to get stuck in my head for the last 15 years. I feel like it’s a very common modern tendency to put the drums up front in the mix to add a sort of artificial dynamism to a tune but this song was one of the first times I ever noticed it and it’s a very effective trick. Massive chorus too.

That mixing on the drums (and the drums in general) really reminds me of the Strokes/Christina bootleg from 2002.

Haley’s last two albums as Haley Bonar are a couple of my favorites of the 2010s, so easy vote for her here. Hope she hangs on to second place.

This was a good group, one of those were I could see myself voting for any of them in another context. Feel like it should be closer purely based on quality, if not famosity.

About You Now is great and all, and gets my vote here, but goodness they lost something when Mutya departed. This very good song could have been a 10 if she had just been there to counteract all the aspertame.

I always get ‘About You Now’ mixed up with Kelly Clarkson’s ‘My Life Would Suck Without You’. I listened to both yesterday and they’re only similar for the first 30 seconds at most, so clearly it’s just my poor old brain being confused by rhyming prepositions.
