I enjoyed PVA taking me back to Slimelight (do raving goths still listen to Apoptygma Bezerk? And on that point, unless PVA stands for something wild, it’s no ‘Apop…’) but SeOul Drift is heads and tails above with its night city alienation and is a total banger (as is the old banger being driven by KB, ha ha ha).
Video highlights: the three seconds between KB and Yoojung which could easily drive a full length film
Junji slouching in the launderette
Nine going to a PIE SHOP
Lowlights: Mill’s suit of flames – burn it!!
(Pg baby also quite good, Misty’s adventure is as exciting to me as my adventure to try and get a food waste bin from the council…)

Not PVA’s fault but my mind drifted to thinking about that fishy glue we used to use in school, that was PVA right? Liked redevil for keeping it short, we need more short songs. OnlyOneOf were good, nice bit of K-pop rap. Misty’s Biggest Adventure were way too much like Divine Comedy for my liking

It was fun to put it on each finger, wait for it to dry and then tap your fingers together though. Would make belting yourself into your new rocks way more difficult though.

The Bigger The Front is my nom.
I was trying to pick acts that hadn’t been up before the panel before and landed on Misty’s Big Adventure. They were one of my favourite live bands, a lugubrious frontman with a dry wit leading a shit-hot group and a blue-faced bloke in a sack offering interpretive dance and, occasionally, biscuits, every show a memorable one.
I’m not sure The Bigger The Front is my absolute favourite of theirs but I do seem to have listened to it a lot over the last year, and as I always feel slightly embarrassed about nominating in these polls and making people listen to whatever nonsense works for me, it seemed like the right choice.
Decent group, PVA and redveil were both on the shortlist.

It’s a nice song! I’ve always had them mixed up with Misty In Roots, but this is exactly the kind of thing my boyfriend would enjoy listening to and I should send it his way!

I am redveil’s nominator and also one of the Shazams! The first time I heard this I loved it and was delighted he was from my neck of the woods. He just turned 19 and has produced everything himself. (This got a Denzel Curry remix, but I like this one better.) He was the only feature on the recent jpegmafia/Danny Brown record, and he’s selling out little clubs right now. I hope to see him get at least as big as the aforementioned!
